Christian Quotes Commentary: This quote leads me to the question -- Where does the Bible tell us that proclaiming that we belong to God will bring us better grades, more friends, and a job promotion? Actually Jesus promises that we will be persecuted for being associated with His name (2 Timothy 3:12). "[Proclaim] He belongs to you," is just plain ridiculous if not blasphemous! God is Sovereign and we belong to Him (1 Corinthians 7:23).
